We had River cremated and the Vet's office sent his ashes to a Christmas tree farm in Donnelly so we went this weekend to see it and try to put some closure to this whole experience.
This was a fast trip. We got to McCall Friday night just before 10pm and left there Saturday at 7:30am. Melissa watched Emily for us so it was nice to have some alone time with Eric. We stayed at the Shore Lodge on Payette Lake in McCall. It was so nice! I hope we could go back once it's summer because the views there are amazing & all they offer, it's sure a cool place! That night they had a fire going and you could make smores, which was kind of neat for a hotel. We were hoping to make it to a local hot springs but we got there so late it was closed.
You'll notice the cross had little name plaques. We didn't know you could put anything at the memorial site but I love the idea of having something there to memorialize him. So we'll have to get one made and go back once more. We sure miss the heck out of him & always will but I think we both feel a little more at peace and are ready to go forward as hard and as sad as that is.
